EURIPID Webinars
The EURIPID Webinar series aims to discuss current issues in the field of pharmaceutical pricing and how the EURIPID collaboration can make a meaningful contribution. The different webinars have different target groups depending on the topic of webinar. Some address the broader public, while others aim to disseminate technical funcionalities of the database to the users. For each webinar the target audience will be statedin the description.

Between January and March 2022, the EURIPID collaboration organised a series of webinars on issues related pharmaceutical pricing.
While the first webinar targetted a broader audience, the second and third webinar solely addressed the European National Competent Authorities for pricing and reimbursement (NCAPR) as well as Members of the EURIPID collaboration and associated partners (e.g., OECD).
First EURIPID Webinar – Pharmaceutical Pricing Policies
The first webinar, which took place on 28 January 2022, gave an overview on about different pricing policies, and how they are applied in European Countries. It focused on the description of archetypical policy interventions and a discussion of their benefits and limitations. The target group of the webinar was a broader audience of stakeholders involved in thje field of pharmaceutcial pricing. More than 150 people registered for this webinar and submitted questions for structured, but vivid discussion on potential long-term sustainability measures for the pharmaceutical financing system. Second EURIPID Webinar – Price Comparisons for pharmaceuticals
On 22 February 2022, the EURIPID Collaboration organised a Webinar on „Price Comparisons – From theory to practice“. The aim of this webinar was to develop an understanding about comparison of prices of pharmaceutical products. In the keynote different different fields of application were presented and their rationale and limitations discussed. A focus in this webinar war on External Reference Pricing (ERP), i.e. when price comparisons are used for setting the price of a pharmaceutical product, and a presentation of the EURIPID Guidance Document on ERP. The keynote in this seminar was supplemented by a country input from Czech Republic on procedures for price comparisons.
Third EURIPID Webinar – How EURIPID can support activities and initiatives in the area of pharmaceutical pricing policies
The final webinar of the series on 8 March 2022, discussed „How EURIPID can support activities and initiatives in the area of pharmaceutical pricing policies“. The aim of this webinar was to present the participants the past, present and future activities of the EURIPID Collaboration and the functionalities of the database. The webinar described the efforts of the EURIPID Collaboration with regard to optimising the dataset and the current scope of information. Furthermore, the keynote included practical examples how data in the database can be used for meaningful analyses or preparing policy briefs.
The EURIPID collaboration wants to thank all participants to the webinars, and the different contributions to the discussion. There has been an overwhelming positive feedback about the webinar series, and participants expressed their wish to continue this format in the future. The Executive Committee of the EURIPID collaboration will explore how this can be implented in the future working plan.
